Printer Problems
Sep 25th, 2005 by Nate
Last night my fax/copier/printer/scanner mega-combo thing COMPLETELY DIED on me (Brother MFC something something).. Total hardware failure (printer head). Some quick internet research led me to the following conclusions:
1) Lots of people with this printer have had this problem
2) It is a pain to get it fixed.
3) It is even more of a pain to get it fixed without you having to pay for it.
4) Even if you DO get it fixed, it doesn’t fix the underlying problem, it just buys you a few more months until it breaks again.
5) Brother stinks
So with plenty of piss and vinegar in my veins, and armed with the latest consumer reports, I marched down to best buy and bought the mothership of all printers… The Samsung CLP510.

Duplexing, full color laser, and let me tell you, this thing is freakin’ ENORMOUS, weighing in at a svelt 80 pounds. It takes up like my entire basement, and draws current like decepticons filling energon cubes. But I like it! The output is stunning.
And this toner gobbling whore only set me back 300 clams.
