Pumpkin (2002)
Starring:
Christina Ricci (one of my top ten favorite actors, soon to be in Prozac Nation*)
Hank Harris (as Pumpkin)
Dominique Swain
Directed by:
Adam Larson Broder
Anthony Abrams
Brief Plot Outline:
A sorority girl (Ricci) falls in love with a disabled man (Harris), at the expense of her “perfect life”.
Comments:
This was a cute movie that doesn’t seem to take itself too seriously.
Ricci (who also has a production credit) plays the role well, although there isn’t a lot of on-screen chemistry between her and Harris. Decent supporting cast.
Not one of Ricci’s better movies, but still worth checking out. It’s an interesting concept that looks stupid on paper but executes very well on the screen.
Hank Harris was perfect for the role.
I give it 4 out of 5 Kidds.
* Interesting note.. the director of Prozac Nation, which is Ricci’s next movie (where she also has a production credit) was directed by the same guy who did the screenplay for the original “Insomnia”, reviewed below.

I must admit, I enjoy the Kidd rating system.
