Insomnia
Starring:
Al Pacino (always a favorite)
Robin Williams (his comic shtick annoys me to no end, but he’s a REALLY good “creepy” actor)
Hillary Swank (one of the best actors in the industry)
Directed by:
Christopher Nolan (”Memento”, which everyone has seen, and “Following”, which no one has seen but SHOULD see)
I’ll forego a plot detail, since this was just a remake of the 1997 film of the same name. I actually liked this movie. I’ve never seen the original, but I’ve heard it’s better than the remake. The direction, casting, acting and cinematography were all outstanding. The only thing that sucked was the screenplay. It was stale, uninteresting, and predictable. I think if any other director tried to take on this film it would have bombed BIG TIME. The end result was a nice little distraction, but with the amount of talent they pooled together for this picture they should have picked a more interesting script.
I give it 4 out of 5 Kidds.
Anyone else seen it?

nice. Kidd looks good. I’ve seen the original, and I really liked it. Not too interested in the remake.
Oh yeah, I watched original Insomnia with Fischer, and he fell asleep like 10 minutes in. I thought it was funny since the name of the movie is insomnia.
Yeah, I’ve only seen the original too. Stellan Skarsgård rules.
You should say “I give it 4 out of 5 pictures of Kidd” instead. Subtle, but important, difference
two things. Getting stuck underwater under a log flow would be the worst way to die.
also, the part where pacino is driving REALLY tired was pretty unnerving, since I have been that way too–too many times in the past.
is Stellan Skarsgård the guy from Hunt for Red October? Cuz that guy does totally rule. That whole part of the globe totally rules. Like the Swedes, who can beat the Swedes? the Japanese maybe, but that’s about it, and I’m not sure, there were never any Japanese vikings, that’s for sure. Nate was reading off like the largest box office failures ever last Friday, and somehow “the 13th Warrior” was on there. That’s so wrong for so many reasons. First of all, how could that cost alot to make, second of all who would not see a movie totally drenched in vikings? Nobody cool that’s for sure.
