This article in the Chicago Tribune (requires annoying registration) details some of GM’s plans to introduce new SUV hybrids in the next few years (try 2007). What’s particularly funny is the MPG difference you can expect to see in some of their trucks and light pickups. For example, the Chevrolet Silverado right now gets 16 mpg city, 21 highway. The hybrid version? 18 in the city, 21 highway. That isn’t a typo. Quick Martha, get my checkbook.
