Honda Civic Hybrid Newsgroup?
Jan 23rd, 2003 by Nate
This is awesome. I just found a newsgroup on yahoo dedicated to the civic hybrid. It was weird, this morning for the first time I actually heard the starter motor kick in, IMA (integrated motor assist) didn’t start the engine like it usually does. I think it had something to do with the cold, because I noticed a bunch of people in the Northeast that had the same thing happen this morning. Maybe it has something to do with the cold and the fact that my battery was kinda low.
If I haven’t mentioned this before, Honda engineers are like the smartest guys on the planet. You have GOT to at least test drive one of these cars!

here’s a link to the Detroit Auto Show, best vehicles of 2003. The top two were the HCH (natch) and the Hummer2. The most wasteful, useless, irresponsible car on earth (11 mpg, come one) vs the best car ever. Why do Americans have to do be so fucking stupid?

I don’t know if I ever mentioned it, but when we went to go see JACKY we drove down in Susan’s friend’s H2. That car is INSANE, like the size of two cars put together. From the outside it still looks all rugged like the real humvee, but on the inside they made it more luxury-ish. It takes up about a lane and a half, and gets lots of turned heads and “USA! USA! WE’RE #1!! WOOOOO!!” type reactions from other drivers. That is, unless they’re right next to you in a construction zone, then as the lanes close in their reaction is more like “OH GOD NO!!! IT’S COMING RIGHT FOR ME!!!!”
By the way, that cyvic hybrid mailing list is great. You got the check engine light today like they’re complaining about?
No I didn’t get the check engine light thing, the only weird thing was that the starter motor kicked in for some reason. Other than that everything was fine.
